The Wonderman Years Vol. 1 - 2026 USA Culture Factory label Red & Blue vinyl 23-track 2LP set - Black Friday 2026

Before becoming a legendary figure in dub, Lee “Scratch” Perry was already turning Jamaica into a sonic laboratory. This exceptional collection brings together 23 tracks recorded during the golden age of roots reggae and the earliest experiments in dub. Junior Byles, Big Youth, Dennis Alcapone, Augustus Pablo and the Upsetters come together in a whirlwind of versions, toasting, hypnotic grooves and rhythms charged with defiance. Tracks such as “Beat Down Babylon”, “Place Called Africa” and “Give Me Power” reveal the creative daring of a producer who continually pushed the boundaries of the genre. Long unavailable on vinyl, this essential collection returns in all its glory as a deluxe double LP. It reproduces the celebrated Wonderman sleeve and includes an OBI strip, illustrated inner sleeves with exclusive liner notes, and two comic-book-coloured records: INFINITE RUBY and CELESTIAL BLUE. A fascinating journey into the boundless world of a truly visionary genius.
