Released on September 18, 1978 together with his other band mates' solo albums, Gene Simmons' self-titled album blends heavy rock anthems with unexpected orchestral arrangements, 1970s funk, and even a Disney-inspired cover of 'When You Wish Upon a Star'. Backed by a mind-boggling roster of superstar guest musicians—including Aerosmith's Joe Perry, Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen, Donna Summer, Bob Seger, and Janis Ian - the album quickly became the highest-charting of the four 1978 solo releases, peaking at No. 22 on the Billboard 200. An absolute essential cornerstone for any serious KISS collector and a fascinating artifact of late-1970s rock eccentricity.

Vinyl has the generic Casablanca label customised to have Gene Simmons directly between the curved company name/logo and the center hole - comes complete with die cut "jigsaw" poster - and double-sided Kiss Army merchandise insert/membership order form - includes inner sleeve featuring the cover art for all four solo albums.

Faint sleeve scuffing only - labels have a single, simple and very small spindletrace in the immediate vicinity of the spindlehole. Cover has a top opening cut corner - a very few small and superficial creases from spine, a single back thumbnail crease and a little creasing towards the slightly rubbed lower opening corner - otherwise just mild rubbing to spine corners. Includes Near Mint 'Kiss Army' insert, poster which has a small rip/bend in one die cut area - sleeve has a cut corner like the cover - otherwise Near Mint
