Parables is a song suite of parables about love, hope and faith. The album is the seventh in the series from Hymns from Nineveh and the third in Danish. The album takes the listener on a journey from the darkness of depression at the crossroads of despair and towards the light. The songs gently deal with the great, existential questions of the inner human life, expressed in concrete, poetic sensations. What does it mean to be human, to love, to believe, to hope. These were the questions Jonas H. Petersen asked himself when he was sick with depression in 2023. Out of this darkness grew songs that he himself needed to hear. Songs that seek the solace of faith, hope and love. Musically, the album is a new breakthrough for Hymns from Nineveh's existential pop poetry – a generous, lush and genre-wise curious work.
