Blood Sugar Sex Magik - 2020 European Warner label 17-track 2LP Reissue

2020 European reissue of The Peppers' highly inflential first album on The Warner Bros. label... their highly melodic 5th outing... produced by Rick Rubin at his The Mansion... a studio facility set up at 4-bedroom mansion in Los Angeles' Laurel Canyon previously owned by actor Erroll Flynn... and magician Harry Houdini used to reside there...the album spawned the singles "Give It Away", "Under the Bridge", "Suck My Kiss", "Breaking the Girl" and "If You Have to Ask" balancing clearly textured infectious funk rock with great ballads... a little less sonic or noisy, definetely not as frictious or metallic as "Mother Milk" and thematically fuelled by sex, drugs and death... in that order.

'Blood Sugar Sex Magic' helped propel a tidal wave of alt. rock orientated bands into mainstream focus... Nirvanas 'Nevermind' and Soundgardens 'Badmotorfinger' was issued  exactly on the same date as 'Blood Sugar Sex Magic'... 24 September, 1991... Pearl Jams debut, 'Ten', and Smashing Pumpkins debut 'Gish' was issued that year. The album simply became a corner stone in funk loaded alt-rock in a broader scope it... this is not an albums to miss... brought to you with same artwork as back then... the four band members' faces positioned around a rose.
