2021 reissue of Birmingham, Alabama, born country-folk singer/somngwriters companion piece to her Grammy-winning "Wrecking Ball" album from 1995 - an almost fully self-penneed effort originally issue in 2000.

Red Dirt is - Like Wrecking Ball - produced by Malcolm Burn who engineered for Daniel Lanois on the last album - the is recorded with guitarists Buddy Miller and Ethan Johns, Daryl Johnson on bass), and drummer Carlo Nuccio. Recorded in New Orleans, the album includes a guest appearance by Dave Matthews - who duets on My Antonia - plus vocal backup from Bruce Springsteen and Patty Scialfa (Tragedy), Kate McGarrigle, Jill Cuniff, and Patty Griffin.
