2014 European Goofin' label reissued of Sonic Youth's sixth and final album for Blast First before leaving for Geffen.... the 1988 album that catapulted them into the mainstream focus proving that noise loaded alt-rock bands could enjoy wide commercial success without compromising their artistic vision. Allmuscis Mark Deming goes as far as to call this Sonic Youth's "first unqualified masterpiece, a triumph that made them one of the most respected bands in indie rock." 
Sides one to four features the original 1988 album, remastered under the band's supervision - from the genius of "Teen Age Riot" to "Eric's Trip", "Total Trash", "Candle" and "Cross The Breeze", "Daydream Nation" contains some of Sonic Youth's best known songs... the album has grown into a classic with time -  ranked #1 by Pitchfork on their '100 Greatest Albums of the 1980s' and Rolling Stone put it at #45 on their '100 Best Albums of the Eighties' list and #328 on their '500 Greatest Albums of All Time.' It was one of 50 recordings chosen by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry in 2006.
