Screamadelica - 2015 European Sony label 11-track 2LP Reissue

Reissue of Scottish indie rockers out of this world - litterary - third studio album... originally released on the Creation label in 1991 into the druggy UK house scene. Primal Scream was at that point essentially a rock band rooted in the 60'ies psychedelic scene, but with 'Screamadelica' the band transformed into a housy dance-orientated entity,... caused by the treatments by acid house DJ and producer from The Sabres Of Paradise and Two Lone Swordsmens Andrew Weatherall along with Hugo Nicolson... The Orb produced the Higher Than The Sound track and Primal Scream included Texas acid rockers 13th Floor Elevators' magnificent Slip Inside This House on the album.

Primal Screams Bobby Gillespie has said that Screamadelica is influenced ny Beach Boys' 1966 album Pet Sounds - adding a overall softer tone to the outcome - Gillespie has also claimed Nico's 1968 album The Marble Index as a major influence.

This an album that has received rave reviews throughout time: AllMusic writer Stephen Thomas Erlewine called Screamadelica "an album that transcends its time and influence.", Spin reviewer Simon Reynolds found the record "totally mind-blowing" whose best songs were "almost unclassifiable"... The online magazine Pitchfork wrote that "Screamadelica's atmospheric and imaginative hybrid of past, present and future captured its moment in vivid color and splendor, and it still radiates with a kaleidoscopic glow." when issuing their 2003 list of the "Top 100 albums of the '90s."

The 11-track album included 6-singles: "Loaded", "Come Together", "Higher than the Sun", "Don't Fight It, Feel It", "Movin' On Up"and the US one "Damaged".
