Rare original UK Trek label 2-track 78 rpm Shellac 10" - a recording of Temusewo Mukasa from the Ganda of Kasangati, Kampala district, Uganda, singing in Ganda (LùGáànda) and playing harp... a faint remiders of prewar American folk sung in African... a very nice item for anyone knee deep in field recordings.

 

Shellac 10" has the generic gold printed navy blue company labels with record logo and company name placed in a top banner - just aboved 'Africa's Best' on gold background.

 

10" was manufactured... our best gues is in the 1930ies... possibly the 1920ies... in England by The Gramophone Record Company, Ltd. - for export to Africa. Matrix information is handetched - mother /stamper info machine stamped:

Side 2: XYZ 7338, mother/stamper 1 N

 

Shellac 10" is placed in a generic die cut plain brown sleeve.
