Original 1972 US Reprise label 12-track LP - Los Angeles born singer/songwriters third studio album... which was ranked number 321 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2003.

Allmusic critic Mark Deming wrote in his review: "On his third studio album, Randy Newman found a middle ground between the heavily orchestrated pop of his debut and the more stripped-down, rock-oriented approach of 12 Songs, and managed to bring new strength to both sides of his musical personality in the process".

Vinyl has the tan 'Steamship' labels with boxed orange ':r' logo just above company name on top label - no Burbank address or Warner Communication logo in label rim text.

Vinyl is housed in an inner pasted gatefold picture cover, accompanied by a 12 x 24" photo insert. No tracklisting on back cover.

Vinyl has the matrix info:
Side 1: p   MS 2064 31,354 1B LH ('p' is hardly detectable), mother/stamper ?A
Side 2: p   MS 2064 31,355 1A LH, mother/stamper 3B

Labels suggest this to be a first issue - the 1B/1A matrix endings reaffirms this. Pressed by the New Jersey located Columbia Records Pressing Plant. Mastered by Lee Herschberg.
