Scarce original 1972 US Chrysalis label 21-track 2LP set compiling grand blues, folk and hard rock infused progressive British rock bands album-, EP- and single tracks, out-takes and live tracks.

The double album features as the "Life Is a Long Song" EP, and all of their singles except for "Aeroplane", "Sunshine Day", "One for John Gee", "17" and the original United Kingdom version of "Teacher" is replaced with the United States single version.

US version features "Hymn 43" and "Alive and Well and Living in" instead "Locomotive Breath" and "Inside" - both tracks previously unreleased in the US. Side 3 featured two lengthy previously unreleased live recordings from Carnegie Hall, November 4, 1970

Vinyl has the generic green company labels with lower roangy red butterfly logo and large fonted company name - text are otherwise in black printing except for top small fonted and curved company name, which are in white printing.

Vinyls are placed in internal pockets - a part of the integral stabled booklet, which is filled with band member and band photographs and attached to inner spread of the textured fold-out hardcover packaging.

Condition: 2xVG+(+) (Vinyls)/VG+(+) (Booklet)/VG+(+) (Cover):
Vinyls are bright and shiny - have a few very superficial marks from being placed in the tight paper pockets - labels are nice and has from a couple of light and simple spindletraces on Side 3 & 4 to less than a handful ones - more complex and scattered on Side 2 - by far nothing grave. All spindletraces are light and superficial, and vinyls are overall graded close to near perfect/excellent.

Booklets is very nice and has a touch of inevitable vinyl outline and wear along this to the pockets and a very light degree of likewise inevitable rubbing off to the adjacent pages - otherwise barely any signs of handling or storage.

Hardcover has light rubbing in corner regions - almost nothing to spine and upper opening corners - a cm or so to lower front panel opening - a very nice copy, fragile as any - graded close to near mint/excellent.
