Rare 1986 UK Island label promotional only vinyl box set manufactured to promote John Martyns 1986 album ?Piece by Piece? mainly towards radios. The box set comprises a 5-track compilation 12" Single - 'Classic John Martyn' - and a 2LP interview set - 'A Conversation With' - featuring a conversation between the artist and Trevor Dann on Martyns life, his views and the background to many of his songs.
Box set is accompanied by a 24-page 'Piece By Piece' booklet with an extensive John Martyn release-structured biography by Brendan Quayle ? everything held in a 12? x 12? card picture box.

Condition: 3xVG++ - M- (Vinyls and Labels)/3xM- (Covers)/M- (Booklet)/VG+ (Box):
Vinyls varies between near perfect with almost no sleeve wear and perfect labels to clean perfect. Sleeves are perfect - as is booklet. Please note that both "In Conversation" have the speed Tippexed out and hand written - this has not influenced the grading as it is essentially the work of the Island label and a feature found on all copies.

Box has itself has a light upper right wrinkles and light brownish age spots in the white areas on the front box lid wrinkle - light superficial creasing and a 1,5" mid upper box edge split on the back bottom - otherwise only marginal boxcorner edge wear - box is graded VG+.
