Chicago Transit Authority - 1970 US Transitional Vinyl Issue

Scarce 1970 US Columbia label 12-track stereo 2LP transitional pressing of Chicagos debut album originally released in the US april 1970.

Side 1 & 2 has the bright red generic two camera eye Columbia labels with rimprint in white.
Side 1 & 2 has GP8 and CS 9809 catalogue numbers.

Side 3 & 4 has the generic red company labels with orange 'Columbia' and camera eye logo rimprint.
Side 3 & 4 has the GP8 and CS 9836 catalogue numbers.

Vinyl has machine stamped matrix information:

Side 1: ASM 139684-1G - C3 (6 o'clock)
Side 2: XSM 139685-1J - F3 (6 o'clock)
Side 3: XSM 139839-1AB - D3 (6 o'clock)
Side 4: XSM 139840-1AA - E3 (6 o'clock)

Stressing that these were manufactured from the first mastertape and respectively the 7th, 10th, 12th and 13th stamper.

This is obviously a transitional pressing manufactured whilst the '360 Sound' labels were phased out during 1970.

Condition: 2 x VG++ (vinyl & labels)/VG++ (Cover)
Vinyls and ranges from absurdly close to perfect to clean perfect. Barely any sleeve wear, next to no superlight spindlemarks indicating play.

Cover has just faint edge/shelf wear and is easily graded near perfect - intact black front and back surface, solid seams, sharp corners, perfect spine.
