2009 Japanese Warner Music exclusive limited edition 9-track digitally remastered SHM-CD album comprising Prince's majestic multi platinum selling full album soundtrack for the 'Purple Rain' movie originally released in 1984.

The 2009 SHM series artwork is an exact miniature reproduction of the original vinyl issue along with a couple of Japanese features:
disc is graphically designed to look like the original Paisley Park/Warner Bros album vinyl picture label.
Disc is housed in a clear plastic inner sleeve and replica of the original illustrated lyric inner sleeve and is accompagnied by a 16-page booklet with lyrics in English/Japanese and a fold out poster.
Everything housed in a mini LP-style card picture cover with an OBi strip - and ultimately in a resealable Japanese sleeve with circular front sticker.

SHM-CD stand for Super High Material CD and is a format featuring enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastica allowing improved transparency on the data side of the disc and thus a more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head.
