Beautiful Stranger is the 1st single from the Motion Picture Soundtrack Austin Powers : The Spy Who Shagged Me, which was chosen to promote the soundtrack in the USA. Written and produced by Madonna and William Orbit.
Beautiful Stranger became a huge success around the world going to no. 1 in Canada, Finland, Iceland and Italy, no. 2 in the UK and top 10 in many other countries. Even though it wasn’t released as a single in the USA the song peaked at no. 19 due to overwhelming airplay and peaked at no. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Chart.
The song later won a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media and a MTV Music Award for Best Video from a Film.
