Papaya - 2025 Danish Universal label 10-track LP

Mina Okabe releases her long-awaited album ‘Papaya’ on April 25th. The Danish/Japanese artist has captivated her global audience since the release of her debut single in 2020. Since then, the Danish-Japanese artist has embarked on an extraordinary journey, achieving over 500 million streams and gaining international recognition. Mina created the album in collaboration with multi-platinum certified hit producer Leroy Clampitt (Dua Lipa, Madison Beer, Justin Bieber and others), with the recording process spanning several cities around the world – from London to Los Angeles.

About the album, Mina says:
"I made the album with Leroy Clampitt in London, Los Angeles and Copenhagen. As soon as we finished our first session in a studio in London exactly two years ago, I knew I wanted to work on an album with him. I've had so much fun, learned so much and am truly grateful for what we've created.

I find that writing songs in different environments can bring new inspiration and new ideas, so I really enjoyed being in Los Angeles for the majority of the album process. Now that the album is finished, I hope listeners can hear that I've grown older and drawn inspiration from many new sounds and experiences. One of the things that has remained the same since my first album, however, is that I'm honest in my lyrics. This new album introduces many thoughts and sides of me that I haven't shared before."

Mina Okabe's extraordinary journey here in recent years tells the story of an international star in the making. Her critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Better Days’, received five-star reviews at home and is now certified 4× platinum in Korea. Additionally, Mina Okabe was nominated as “New Artist of the Year” at the Danish Music Awards in 2022. In 2023, she was named a Spotify RADAR artist and Apple Music’s “One to Watch.” The journey continued in the spring of 2024 when she was honored as “New Artist of the Year” at the Japan Gold Disc Awards, further cementing her place on the global music scene.
