Mike Andersen opens his ninth album by slamming the door hard in the autobiographical song, Slamming The Door. A humorous plug that is about being aware of which person you want to be, in the music as well as in life, before you end up walking and slamming the door!

For a long time, only melancholy songs came from my hand about what we are experiencing in these years, until it struck me: The only way to survive mentally in this time is to embrace the chaos we are thrown into, and stand by that one is sometimes 'messed up'. Only there can we find a common redemption! "

Hence the title song, RAISE YOUR HAND! The sound of the title song stands out from the rest of the album, and has a more old-school approach than you have heard from the Mike Andersen Band for many years, with double bass and horn section.

The rest of the album moves stylistically in the hybrid of genres you gradually know Mike Andersen and his band for. A personal mix of the blues and soul Mike fell for at an early age, but without being burdened with genre dogmas, and mixed up with what they find inspiring of music from the time we live in.

Mike Andersen's characteristic vocals, intense guitar style, and not least the fantastic band he has played countless tours with at home and abroad, has for ten years moved into a kind of symbiosis where things often give themselves. To capture this immediacy and authenticity, the album is recorded 'live in the studio' down on analog tape.
