formatif? - 2021 Danish EverydayMusic label 14-track 2LP set

A double album re-issue of the very first naïve-album including an impressive booklet. 

The Danish visual artist Martin Bigum was just about 20 years old when he painted a painting inspired by a song on naïve's first album fish?
That painting adorns the cover of formatif?, which is a 2021 re-issue of the first vinyls released by naïve. Namely the aforementioned album and the 12"-single Carry On.
Printed from the original master on 180 gram vinyls, the two records will sound 100% like in 1985/86. The works are accompanied by an extensive 20-page booklet with reproductions of recent Martin Bigum paintings, an essay by the artist and a portrait of naïve as a young band, written by Klaus Lynggaard.

In the essay "A testimony that inspiration wanders", Martin Bigum tells how his paintings today derive from the impressions he got in the mid-eighties when he, as a mere kid, visited Copenhagen and, among other things, got acquainted with naïve. He writes in his introduction: "All the paintings from my hand in this booklet have an essence in them that would not have been there without the music of naive."

formatif? was released on January 4th, 2021 as a limited, numbered edition of only 300 copies .

Den danske billedkunstner Martin Bigum var omkring 20 år, da han malede et maleri inspireret af en sang på naïves første album fish?
Det maleri pryder forsiden på formatif?, som er en 2021-genudgivelse af de første vinyler, der udkom med naïve. Nemlig førnævnte album og 12"-singlen med Carry On fra samme album.
Trykt fra den originale master kommer de to vinyler 100% til at lyde som i 1985/86, bare i tungere vinyl (180gr), men de følges med en omfattende booklet (20 sider) med gengivelser af nyere Martin Bigum-malerier, et essay af kunstneren og et portræt af det tidlige naïve, skrevet af Klaus Lynggaard.
I essayet "Et vidnesbyrd om at inspirationen vandrer" fortæller Martin Bigum hvordan hans malerier i dag står på skuldrene af de indtryk han fik i København i midten af 1980'erne, deriblandt mødet med naïves musik.
Som han skriver i sin indledning: "Alle malerier fra min hånd i denne booklet har en essens i sig, som ikke ville have været der uden naïves musik."
