2020 print of the 2nd album by Manhattan, New York City, born singer-songwriter with the artist name crossed between 1950ies actress Lana Turner and the Ford Del Rey sedan... this is her first album in a commercially availiable physical format - bringing us unsettling sensous rumblings and melancholia in the form of noir loaded tales of predetermined doom, tragic romance... unhealthy but fascinating relationships altogether... alcohol and drugs - wrapped in Grants laconic, hypnotic voice - off course there's a lot of knowing sadness and romantic sentiment in all this... drenched in nostalgic 50- and 60ies Americana symbolism and a slightly atmospheric and slow, darkly cinematic sound supported by by dramatic string instruments - genrewise labelled "Hollywood sadcore"... somewhere between trip hop and dream pop.
