Scarce 1973 UK Purple Records 1st pressing 7-track LP set - last album with singer Ian Gillan and bassist Roger Glover until Perfect Strangers came out in 1984 - featuring the singles "Woman from Tokyo" / "Black Night (live)" and "Super Trouper" / "Blood Sucker".

Vinyl has the on the generic black texted purple company labels with mid-sized curved left labelrim company name and large white 'p' logo stretching from mid-label and downwards - labels has 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd' upper perimeter text as well as 'Made in Gt. Britain' text at 6 o'clock..

Vinyl has machine stamped (ms) and handetched (he) matrix information:

Side 2: T P S A 7 5 0 8 B – 1 U (ms) PURPLE PECKIE (he); mother/stamper 1 OL

pointing out that this pressing was manufavtured by The Gramophone Cp. Ltd. in Hayes, Middlesex from the first mastering - done by mastering engeneer George Peckham - subsequently pressed by a set of relatively early stampers manufactured from the first set of mothers.

Vinyl is accompanied by ca 11" square luric insert - held in an outer laminated gatefold picture sleeve - both insert and cover are manufactured by Garrod & Lofthouse in the UK.

Condition: VG Vinyl And Labels)/VG+(+) (Insert)/VG+ (Cover):
Vinyl is  still lustrous - has a very few definite surface lines - and a some degree of fine and light sleeve scuffing - looks like this one was inserted directly into the card sleeve at some point. Labels has an indeterminable amount of spindlewear... defenitely an album favored by the previous owner. Vinyl is a very nice VG.

Insert has a couple of marginal bends and a little edge rubbing - nothing grave - graded straight VG+.
Cover has lighter signs of handling and storage - a little wrinkling from edges - small areas of laminate lift against top front and back opening - a little wear to laminate only - lightly so along vinyl outline and edges on back, along edges only on front. Seams are intact - corners with only a touch of ribbing, next to nothing. Spine is nice - without shelling and easily readable... only very light pressure. Inner spread has almost no signs of handling - as such only lighter imperfectins - a nice VG+.
