2015 European Brainfeeder label 17-track 3LP Box - American jazz saxophonist, Kendrick Lamar & Flying Lotus collaborator, and part of an exploding network of L.A. visionaries, this is Kamasi Washingtons debut as a jazz bandleader - a 172-minute genre and mind expanding spectacular for choir, classical orchestra and jazz band.

'Epic features soul and gospel vocals, boiling drumming (Art Blakey was a declared inspiration), swing, funk, and voicelike free-jazz blowing. Swing riffs, wailing Hammond organs, the bebop vehicle Cherokee turned into a slinky soul vocal, a big-band account of Debussy's Clair de Lune - it all goes into a venture that has links to the large-scale jazz of Sun Ra and the 1960s Jazz Composers' and Liberation Music orchestras.' John Fordham, The Guardian

'The Epicisn't fusion, retro, or remotely academic. It's 21st century jazz as accessible as it is virtuosic -- feel matters to Washington. Holistic in breadth and deep in vision, it provides a way into this music for many, and challenges the cultural conversation about jazz without compromising or pandering.' Thom Jurek, Allmusic

Vinyls are pressed as a 180 gram half speed mastered vinyl pressing - packed in separate monochrome covers - with colours matching the labels - includes full album download voucher.

Vinyls are accompanied by 2 x 12" poster inserts featuring exclusive artwork by KC Woolf Haxton and story adaptation and calligraphy by Kenturah Davis - everything held in a rigid board outer picture slipcase.
