The Beatles Anthology - All Together Now - 1996 Japanese Apple label Promotional Issue Only 9LP Box

Very rare authentic promotional issue only 1996 Japanese Apple/EMI-Odeon label 9-LP box set presenting the three commercially availiable Japanese 3LP sets - held in a promotional only 13" x 13" heavy duty card slipcase box with 'All Together Now' text on one side & Anthology logo text on the reverse.

This box was only issued to EMI/Toshiba employees in Japan and is rarely offered for sale - let alone found in such neat condition as this one.

Vinyls are manufactured with the generic full apple motif labels on Side 1 and sliced apple motif on Side 2 labels.

Vinyls are held in end and mid-pockets in a 3-panel fold-out picture cover featuring Klaus Voormans collage-artwork on front, liner notes by journalist and writer... and former press officer for the Beatles, Derek Taylor, and detailed recording descriptions by Beatles Expert Mark Lewisohn in inner spread along with numerous great Photos.

Each set comes complete with Japanese lyric booklets & top obi-strips.

The anthology albums included unreleased performances and outtakes presented in roughly chronological order, along with two new songs based on demo tapes recorded by John Lennon after the group broke up - "Free as a Bird" from Anthology 1 and "Real Love" from the 2nd volume.

Anthology 1 included music recorded by the Quarrymen, the famous Decca Records audition tapes, and various out-takes and demos from the band's first four albums. It also included the song "Lend Me Your Comb", omitted from the collection Live at the BBC, released the previous year (1994).

Anthology 2 presented out-takes and demos from the Beatles' sessions for Help!, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and Magical Mystery Tour. These included selected early demos and takes for Lennon's "Strawberry Fields Forever", previously available only to bootleg collectors.

Anthology 3 featured out-takes and demos from The White Album, Abbey Road, and Let It Be as well as several songs from Harrison and McCartney which later became post-Beatle tracks.

Vinyls are sublimely shiny and without any signs of play or handling what ever - just superbright and with perfect labels.
Booklets are perfect - covers mint - OBI's likewise perfect.
Tray and heavy duty slipcase has just extremely marginal signs of handling or storage - easily graded near mint - hard to find, impossible in such a neat condition.
