|Additional info||Rare original 1967 US Columbia Records vinyl 1st pressing mono 13-track LP - psychedelic San Francisco quintets debut album and immense classic spawning five singles in 1967: 'Fall on You', 'Sitting By the Window', '8:05', 'Omaha' and 'Hey Grandma'.|
"Moby Grape' has been described as "one of the very few psychedelic masterpieces ever recorded." by Gene Sculatti and Davin Seay in their book 'San Francisco Nights, Moby Grape' - and music journalist Mark Deming wrote that it is "...of the finest (perhaps the finest) album to come out of the San Francisco psychedelic scene, brimming with great songs and fresh ideas,..." in his Allmusic review.
Vinyl is manufactured with the generic red company labels with white rim- and black centerprint. Labels have top curved company name, 'Mono' text along bottom rim and 'camera eye logos' towards far mid-left and right.
Vinyl is still housed in its original sealed inner sleeve - pretty amazing considering that this album is more than 50 years old.
Vinyl is accompanied by large fold out poster - which has a "For Demonstration Use Only Not For Sale" texted promotional sticker attached to the top right part of the poster.
Still factory sealed vinyl and poster is packed the first issue, back pasted, uncensored mono picture cover displaying Skip Spence 'flipping the bird' on the washboard and with the all red tinted American flag.
Condition: Still Factory Sealed (Vinyl and Labels)/VG++ (Poster and Sticker)/VG++ (Cover)
Vinyl is still factory sealed - still in the original clear wrapping, safely sealed at the top.
Poster is extremely close to mint - hardly any signs of rubbing to folds or corners. Promo sticker is mint.
Cover is still in the original shrink wrapping - opened and slightly torn along back opening - all of the wrapping is present though. The cover has hardly noticeable dents to spine corners and a slight one to lower opening corner followed by a touch of rubbing - otherwise a cover in astonishing condition - overall graded near mint. This is an album which has become extremely hard to come by in the original mono version - virtually impossible in this shape.
