Space Shanty - Original 1972 UK Deram label 6-track LP
Year of release
VG++ (Vinyl and Labels)/VG (Cover)
Rare original 1972 UK Deram label 6-track vinyl LP - the sole album by Canterbury scene-art/prog rock combo - organ fueled lengthy, ambitious compositions - featuring ex-Arzachel and future Gong guitarist and Kevin Ayers collaborator Steve Hillage as well as Egg and Arzachel and future Hatfield and The North guitarist Dave Stewart and ex-Crazy World of Arthur Brown bassist Nick Greenwood.
Vinyl has the generic white company labels with red upper half and top company name-logo in large white font.
Vinyl has machine stamped matrix information:
Side 1: ZAL-11366.P1W, mother/stamper 1BN
Side 2: ZAL-11367.P1W, mother/stamper 1BC
verifying that this is a copy from the first batch pressed - from the first set of master matrices and mothers - early stampers - first pressing.
Vinyl is housed in a generic polylined era specific company inner sleeve and finally in a matt or non-laminated David Ansted designed gatefold picture cover manufactured by Robert Stace.
Condition: VG++ (Vinyl and Labels)VG+ (Cover):
Vinyl is bright and shiny - has a very light degree of faint sleeve wear - nothing even remotely needle inflicted.
Labels are nice - a very few broad but simple spindletraces - vinyl and labels are overall graded near mint.
Front and back cover does only display little real wear in the vein of rubbing - it has quite a few light and superficial wrinkles and creases though. A single top right front crease transcends the cover in a couple of tiny points. A small lower front right corner area is rubbed off.Inner spread is mint.
Cover has a intact but very slightly rubbed lower seams - a nice solid spine with a little more intense rubbing ca 1 cm towards top - easily readable spine. Top front seam has a 4 - 5" split back and front panel top seams are otherwise extremely nice.
Corners are either slightly or very slightly dented/rubbed - by far nothing grave - cover is overall easily enjoyable... graded straight VG.
